ZIFA Not For Me, Says Munyati

Harare, February 05, 2010 - MARKETING consultant and Aces Youth Academy director Nigel Munyati says he has no intention of contesting the Vice Presidency at the ZIFA elections which are scheduled for March.

In a statement denying an earlier report carried by Radio VOP, Munyati – a renowned businessman in his own right – also clarified his relationship with Native Africa boss, Philip Chiyangwa.    Munyati said he works with Chiyangwa “on an advisory capacity, assisting him in managing his various business interests”, but was not an employee of the property tycoon.
Radio VOP had carried a story saying Munyati and Leslie Gwindi, Harare City Council spokesman and former Dynamos executive, were being backed by Chiyangwa to land the two top posts at Zifa House as “running mates”.
“I am not contesting for the position of ZIFA First Vice President,” said Munyati, adding that he only spoke to Gwindi after the Radio VOP story and had not spoken to the council spokesman in three months.
Munyati is the founder and director of Aces Youth Soccer Academy.
